The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Raymond W. Boone, Corporal, U.S. Marine Corps, for extraordinary heroism while serving with the 79th Company, 6th Regiment (Marines), 2d Division, A.E.F. in action in the advance on Bouresches, France, June 6, 1918. After receiving three severe wounds Corporal Boone continued in the advance on Bouresches. Having been sent to the rear, he returned close to the advanced lines, where he assisted in bringing in the wounded.
