    The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Monred A. Bordvick, Sergeant, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near Consenvoye, France, October 8, 1918. In charge of a flank patrol of four men during an attack, he entered a village occupied by the enemy in force, and captured forty- two prisoners and three machine guns which were holding up the advance of the battalion from the left flank. He displayed marked courage and ability as a leader.
