    The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Edward J. Brock, Sergeant, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near Wortegen, Belgium, November 3, 1918. While his wagon train was being heavily shelled, Sergeant Brock was severely wounded and his horse killed. He refused, however, to be evacuated, and mounting another horse led the train to a location where it was safely parked.
