    The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Oscar L. Buck, Captain, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action in the attack on Landres- et-St. Georges line, France, October 15, 1918. Captain Buck led his company ably and efficiently in the attack. Although severely wounded, he refused to go to the rear, but continued to direct his men under terrific artillery and machine-gun fire until he was exhausted.
