The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Clarence H. Bunyard, Corporal, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near Bellicourt, France, September 29, 1918. Corporal Bunyard, wounded soon after the opening of the attack, continued to lead his squad until he was incapacitated by a second wound.
