The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Milton G. Burton, Sergeant, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near Eclisfontaine, France, September 28, 1918. While attached to an Infantry unit, Sergeant Burton evidenced great bravery in bringing in four severely wounded men from the front lines to the dressing station. After reaching dressing station he immediately administered first aid to the men, being continually exposed to the machine-gun and sniper fire.
