The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pride in presenting the Medal of Honor (Posthumously) to Private George Hooker, United States Army, for gallantry in action in which he was killed on 22 January 1873, while serving with Company K, 5th U.S. Cavalry, in action at Tonto Creek, Arizona.
