Jeremiah Z. Brown

The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Captain (Infantry) Jeremiah Z. Brown, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 27 October 1864, while serving with Company K, 148th Pennsylvania Infantry, in action at Petersburg, Virginia. With 100 selected volunteers, Captain Brown assaulted and captured the works of the enemy, together with a number of officers and men.
