    The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Private Delano Morey, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 8 May 1862, while serving with Company B, 82d Ohio Infantry, in action at McDowell, Virginia. After the charge of the command had been repulsed, Private Morey rushed forward alone with an empty gun and captured two of the enemy’s sharpshooters.
