Ashley D. Adams

The Navy Cross is awarded to Lieutenant (j.g.) Ashley D. Adams, U.S. Navy (Reserve Forces), for distinguished service in the line of his profession as commanding officer of the U.S.S.C. No. 137 and Sub Chaser Unit 6, engaged in the important, exacting, and hazardous duty of patrolling the waters of the war zone and operating against enemy submarines and patrol vessels, and especially for taking part in the attack on September 6, 1918, when depth charge attacks were made and it is believed that the submarine was destroyed.
