Fred F. Campanaro

The Navy Cross is awarded to Baker First Class Fred F. Campanaro, U.S. Navy, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service while engaged in mine-sweeping operations in the North Sea Barrage. Ship’s Baker Campanaro aided Chief Machinist’s Mate Benjamin Mock in saving the life of Boatswain Reinbold but had to be hauled aboard before Mock returned to the ship.
