John D. Edwards

The Navy Cross is awarded to Lieutenant John D. Edwards, U.S. Navy, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in the line of his profession on the U.S.S. Shaw when that ship was rammed by the steamship Aquitania. Lieutenant Edwards lost his life in the explosion.
