The Navy Cross is awarded to Commander (MC) James E. Gill, U.S. Navy, for distinguished service in the line of his profession as fleet surgeon, U. S. Asiatic Fleet, and especially for his work in the care of the sick and wounded of the Czecho-Sloyak and other allied armies operating in Siberia and in the establishment and administration and organization of an up-to-date hospital for international service at Vladivostok.
