Guiroye De

The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to De Guiroye, Captain, French Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near Blanc Mont Ridge, France, October 3, 1918. While leading his company of tanks, attached to the Second American Division, into the fight, under terrific shell and machine-gun fire, he set an example to all about him by his coolness and bravery. He showed conspicuous devotion to duty in the performance of which he was killed by enemy fire.
