Auguste A. Giet

The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Auguste A. Giet, Private First Class, French Army, for extraordinary heroism in action in France on July 22, 1918. While his company was surrounded by the enemy after an attack, Soldat Giet volunteered and established liaison with his battalion, his mission being successfully accomplished despite the severe fire from many machine-guns in the vicinity.
