Julien Morel

The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Julien Morel, Interpreter, French Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near Cheppy, France, September 18, 1918. Attached as an interpreter to the 138th Infantry, Mr. Morel volunteered to go forward with the organization in an attack, and though himself wounded helped to carry a wounded officer from the battle field and then returning, led the tanks to Cheppy, making possible the entrance of the Infantry to that town.
