The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Lieutenant Abraham Desomer, United States Navy, for extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession on board the U.S.S. Utah, during the seizure of Vera Cruz, Mexico, 21 and 22 April 1914.
