Davis, Quartermaster Sergeant, U.S. Marine Corps, for extraordinary heroism while serving with the Supply Company, 6th Regiment (Marines), 2d Division, A.E.F. in action near Bouresches, France, June 7, 1918. Sergeant Davis volunteered and assisted in taking a truck load of ammunition and material into Bouresches, France, over a road swept by artillery and machine-gun fire, thereby relieving a critical situation.
