The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Delbert Farrington, Sergeant, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action at Novitskaya, Siberia, July 2, 1919. After his platoon commander was severely wounded, Sergeant Farrington assumed command of the platoon and led it in such a skillful manner as to gain superiority of fire and drive the enemy from his position without further loss to the platoon.
