The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Homer D. Tommie, Private First Class, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action at Posolskaya, Siberia, January 10, 1920. When his platoon was attacked in the night by an armored train, Private Tommie, without thought of his own danger, attempted to board the armored train and was fired upon, wounded, and fell under the wheels of the car, which severed his leg from his body.
