Robert E. Williams

The Navy Cross is presented to Robert E. Williams, Captain, U.S. Marine Corps, for exceptionally meritorious service as Quartermaster of the Day Wing, Northern Bombing Group (USN) at the front in France. Captain Williams performed arduous and complex duties under very difficult conditions. It was due mainly to his untiring zeal and unlimited energy and perseverance that the Day Wing secured the necessary equipment and supplies to properly perform its duties at the front.
