    The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Henry H. Sheen, Captain, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with operations against an armed enemy near Dasmarinas, Philippine Islands, August 19, 1900. Captain Sheen, at the imminent risk of his own life succeeded in saving the life of a brother officer from drowning while the detachment under his command was attempting to cross the Imus River and effect a surprise upon a rendezvous of a ladrone band in the vicinity.
