    The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Private Henry Hogan, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 30 September 1877, while serving with Company G, 5th U.S. Infantry, in action at Bear Paw Mountain, Montana. Private Hogan carried Lieutenant Romeyn, who was severely wounded, off the field of battle under heavy fire.
