Michael J. Hardiman

The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Michael J. Hardiman, Private, U.S. Marine Corps, for extraordinary heroism while serving with the 18th Company, 5th Regiment (Marines), 2d Division, A.E.F. in action near St. Etienne, France, October 4, 1918. During the offensive operations at Blanc Mont Ridge, Private Hardiman volunteered and went into “No Man’s Land,” under intense machine-gun fire, and brought in a wounded man.
