The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pride in presenting the Medal of Honor (Posthumously) to Sergeant Bernard Taylor, United States Army, for bravery in rescuing Lieutenant King, 5th U.S. Cavalry, from Indians, on 1 November 1874, while serving with Company A, 5th U.S. Cavalry, in action at Sunset Pass, Arizona Territory.
