    The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Private George D. Scott, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on June 25 & 26, 1876, while serving with Company D, 7th U.S. Cavalry, in action at Little Big Horn, Montana. Private Scott voluntarily brought water to the wounded under fire.
