Roy C. Olson

The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Roy C. Olson, Corporal, U.S. Army, for gallant conduct in action at Mount Bud-Dajo, Jolo, Philippine Islands, March 7, 1906, in willingly and unhesitatingly responding to a call for a few men to occupy an exposed point in advance of the line in plain view and within 25 or 30 yards of the enemy, from which point he kept up a most effective fire until the assault was made.
