Bronze Star

The Bronze Star Medal is a United States military decoration awarded to members of the Armed Forces for heroic or meritorious achievement or service in connection with military operations against an armed enemy. Established in 1944, the Bronze Star recognizes distinguished service in combat operations, with the “V” device authorized to denote acts of heroism involving participation in combat. The medal has honored generations of American service members whose courage, leadership, and exceptional service contributed to military operations during times of war and conflict.
