The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Sergeant Alonzo Bowman, United States Army, for conspicuous and extraordinary bravery in attacking mutinous scouts on 30 August 1881, while serving with Company D, 6th U.S. Cavalry, in action at Cibicu Creek, Arizona Territory.
