The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Silver Star to Private First Class Bruno G. Moreschi, 32 863 227, Infantry, Company “L”, 15th Infantry Regiment. Early in the morning of 30 January 1945 near Muntzenheim, France, Private First Class Moreschi ran fifty yards under heavy artillery, machine gun and rifle fire to gain a good field of fire and engage the enemy. Although completely exposed to the Germans in that area and barely escaping the enemy’s fire he remained at his post for twenty minutes during which time he silenced a machine gun, killed one of the enemy and forced twenty to surrender.
