    The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Charles E. Brundrett, Private, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near Seicheprey, France, April 20, 1918. Although surrounded on all sides by the enemy, and with his ammunition entirely exhausted, Private Brundrett offered a most stubborn resistance to the enemy’s attack, fighting his way through their ranks with his rifle and bayonet, to the support platoon, where he again took up the fight.
