Gibson, Private, U.S. Marine Corps, for extraordinary heroism while serving with the 82d Company, 6th Regiment (Marines), 2d Division, A.E.F. in action near Bayonville, France, November 1, 1918. Private Gibson volunteered and went forward to reconnoiter a ravine which was infested with hostile machine-gun and artillery positions, returning with several prisoners.
