The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Watertender Edward Alvin Clary, United States Navy, for extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession on board the U.S.S. Hopkins on the occasion of the accident to one of the boilers of that vessel, 14 February 1910.
