The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Seaman Edward William Boers, United States Navy, for gallant and heroic service on board the U.S.S. BENNINGTON, 21 July 1905. Following the explosion of a boiler of that vessel, Seaman Boers displayed extraordinary heroism in the resulting action.
