Evans R. Dick, Jr.

The Navy Cross is awarded to Lieutenant Evans R. Dick, Jr., U.S. Navy, for distinguished service in the line of his profession as commander of the U.S.S. C-36 and Submarine Chaser Unit 4, engaged in the important, exacting, and hazardous duty of patrolling the waters of the war zone and operating against enemy submarines and patrol vessels, and especially for taking part in attacks upon enemy submarines on August 21, August 23, and September 2, 1918.
