The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Felix Beauchamp, Captain, U.S. Marine Corps, for extraordinary heroism while serving with the 5th Regiment (Marines), 2d Division, A.E.F. in action near St. Etienne, France, October 3 – 4, 1918. Captain Beauchamp took command after his company commander had been evacuated, and despite severe wounds, participated in many engagements, continuing until additional wounds forced his withdrawal from the field.
