Francis L. Chadwick

The Navy Cross is awarded to Captain Francis L. Chadwick, U.S. Navy, for distinguished service in the line of his profession as commanding officer of the U.S.S. Galveston, engaged on patrol against raiders in the waters of the Asiatic Station, and later on convoy duty in the Atlantic, escorting troop and cargo ships to European waters through the zone infested by enemy submarines and mines.
