The Navy Cross is awarded to Fireman First Class Frank C. Hunt, U.S. Navy, for heroism at his own risk of life. Fireman Hunt performed most meritorious service to the Government in entering the engine room of the U.S.S. Cuyama on September 19, 1918, when filled with ammonia fumes, and performed rescue and repair work.
