The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Frank F. Geiger, Sergeant, U.S. Marine Corps, for extraordinary heroism while serving with the 95th Company, 6th Regiment (Marines), 2d Division, A.E.F. in action in the Forest of Argonne, France, November 1, 1918. Sergeant Geiger displayed great coolness and courage in leading his section against machine-gun positions. He was later severely wounded while rushing a machine-gun nest unaided.
