Frederick L. Cook

The Navy Cross is awarded to Electrician First Class Frederick L. Cook, U.S. Navy (Reserve Forces), for extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession. Frederick L. Cook remained at his post after all hands had left the ship sending out S.O.S. calls while the ship was under fire, and it became necessary for him to jump overboard to reach one of the small boats.
