    The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Private Henry Casey, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 22 April 1863, while serving with Company C, 20th Ohio Infantry, in action at Vicksburg, Mississippi. Private Casey voluntarily served as one of the crew of a transport that passed the forts under a heavy fire.
