    The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Private Henry Holden, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 25 June 1876, while serving with Company D, 7th U.S. Cavalry, in action at Little Big Horn, Montana. Private Holden brought up ammunition under a galling fire from the enemy.
