The Navy Cross is presented to Herbert C. Rodd, Lieutenant (j.g.), U.S. Navy (Reserve Force), for distinguished service in the line of his profession as a Member of the Crew of Seaplane NC-4, in making the first successful Trans-Atlantic flight.
