The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Howard H. Pellegrom, Second Lieutenant, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action at Bolshieozerke, Russia, April 2, 1919. Lieutenant Pellegrom exposed himself to direct enemy observation and fire to go forward 200 yards in advance of our lines and drag a wounded medical attendant to a place of safety.
