John Joseph Follis

The Navy Cross is awarded to Fireman First Class John Joseph Follis, U.S. Navy, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service, and for zeal and courage displayed in the engine room of the U.S.S. Mount Vernon, when that ship was torpedoed in the Atlantic Ocean on September 5, 1918.
