Joseph C. Carhart

The Navy Cross is presented to Joseph C. Carhart, Lieutenant, U.S. Navy, for distinguished service in the line of his profession as Squadron Commander of the mine-sweeping force of the Fifth Naval District. In organizing, operating and commanding the mine sweepers, Lieutenant Carhart displayed marked ability and excellent judgment.
