The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Drummer Julian A. Scott, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 16 April 1862, while serving with Company E, 3d Vermont Infantry, in action at Lee’s Mill, Virginia. Drummer Scott crossed the creek under a terrific fire of musketry several times to assist in bringing off the wounded.
