Julian F. Carson

The Navy Cross is awarded to Ensign Julian F. Carson, U.S. Navy (Reserve Forces), for distinguished and heroic service in the line of his profession as pilot of seaplanes, especially in an engagement with an enemy submarine on August 13,1918, when although under fire from the submarine he was imbued with such coolness and skill that he was able to disable the submarine by dropping bombs and force her to return to port.
