The President of the United States takes pride in presenting the Silver Star Medal (Posthumously) to Leland D Zahn (1084924), Staff Sergeant, U.S. Marine Corps, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action while serving with Company C, First Battalion, Ninth Marines, THIRD Marine Division, in action against the enemy in the Republic of Vietnam on 5 April 1967.
