Louis Bozarth

The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Louis Bozarth, Corporal, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near Madeleine Farm, France, November 8, 1918. While driving a supply train truck Corporal Bozarth was severely wounded in the left leg by fragments of an enemy high-explosive shell and the truck was badly damaged by shellfire. Assisted by his helper, he made temporary repairs and drove the truck to its destination. He later died as a result of the wounds received.
